President Joe Biden’s Christmas message to Orthodox Christians
Jill and I wish a peaceful and joyous Christmas to Orthodox Christians in the United States and around the world. During this sacred season, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and the power of faith to lift us up, to change us, and to change the world.
We are thankful for the many ways in which Orthodox Christians continue to show love and compassion to their neighbors.
As services take place in churches around the nation and the world, we reaffirm the right of all people to practice their faith freely and recommit to standing with those who face discrimination, persecution, and violence because of their faith.
We join the Orthodox Christian community in praying for peace, justice, and joy for all God’s children in this new year.
About President Bidens Religious Convictions
Biden’s religious convictions are grounded in his life of faith and experience. He is a committed Catholic and has long cherished the values of the Christians within his community. Throughout the years, Biden has shown great respect for Christians’ right to practice their faith freely and to celebrate their tradition without prejudice or judgment.
Christians have found comfort in his words and actions on issues pertinent to their beliefs. Now that Biden is President, he continues to show respect for Christians and remind them that they are never alone– even when faced with discrimination, persecution, or violence due to their faith.
As he shares his wishes for joyous holidays amongst Christians around the world, we can be assured that President Biden finds it worthy to stand up for Christians’ freedoms and protections wherever he can.
