Official Statement by the Government of Pakistan:
Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that the sacrifices rendered by healthcare professionalism, especially during COVID-19 are unmatchable. He paid tribute to the doctor community for their commitment and dedication to providing a health care system to the common people in Pakistan.
He also applauded the role of the Pakistani Medical Association (PMA) to support health professionals. He expressed these views while inaugurating two days Annual Conference 2022-2023 Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) in Islamabad.
Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change Ms. Naz Baloch was also present on the occasion. While talking about the restoration of PMDC, he said that the restoration of PMDC is to support the doctor community and to acknowledge their pivotal role in providing health care to common people.
He said that our doctor community is our pride because of their professionalism and Commitment. He said that wherever and whenever he visited any foreign land he always get compliments about the Pakistani doctor diaspora.
He also said that our nation is committed and dedicated and we can achieve whatever we desire.
He added,
“Pakistan is bound to progress and develop by leaps and bounds and it will never face economic default.”
The Speaker also said that elections should be ensured for PMDC executive body. Parliamentary Secretary on Climate Change Ms. Naz Baloch said that climate change is posing a serious threat to the Health care system in Pakistan.
She said that the Health care system in Pakistan needs to be evolved as per new challenges posed by global warming. She paid tribute to the Pakistani doctor community for their role especially to tackle the pandemic of COVID-19 in the country.
Prof Dr. Akhtar Bandeshah President of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Islamabad expressed gratitude to Speaker National Raja Pervez Ashraf for restoring PMDC and for restoring PIMS Islamabad to its original status.
He appreciated the steps taken by the PPP government, especially by the Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf, and Foreign Minister Mr. Bilawal Bhutto for fulfilling their promise of Restoring PMDC and PIMS to their original status.
