Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman confirmed that government employees will receive their respective mid-year bonuses starting May 15 this year.

Secretary Pangandaman said:
“I am happy to announce that our public servants will receive a mid-year bonus this year, which is earmarked for agency-specific allocation under the 2023 General Appropriations Act or GAA.”
“We know that this is one of the things that our fellow government employees are looking forward to that will really help them in their daily needs.”
“So we are reminding all government agencies and offices to ensure the timely giving of bonuses to our employees or based on the existing rules and regulations, starting May 15.”
The mid-year bonus is equal to one month’s salary by May 15th and will be granted to eligible employees who have served a total or aggregate of four months from July 1st of last that year until May 15th of the current year.
The staff must also remain in service as of May 15th of the current year and have obtained a satisfactory performance rating within the immediately preceding rating period or applicable performance appraisal period.
The mid-year bonus will be granted to all positions for civilian personnel, whether regular or casual, contractual, appointive or elective, full-time or part-time, currently existing or created in the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches, Constitutional Commissions and other Constitutional Offices, State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Government-Owned or -Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) covered by the Compensation and Position Classification System (CPCS), and local government units (LGUs).

Employees who will receive a mid-year bonus also include:
- Military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines under the Department of National Defense
- Uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police
- Philippine Public Safety College
- Bureau of Fire Protection
- Bureau of Jail Management and Penology of the Department of Interior and Local Government
- Bureau of Corrections of the Department of Justice
- Philippine Coast Guard of the Department of Transportation
- National Mapping
- Resource Information Authority of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
The granting of mid-year bonus for the staff covered by the GOCCs will be determined by the respective governing boards.
In addition, the granting of mid-year bonuses for government employees in provinces, cities, municipalities and barangays will be determined by the respective sanggunian.
