In a spectacular evening that fused culture and entertainment, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library (MBRL) celebrated Emirati women by hosting a mesmerizing opera performance by renowned Emirati artist Fatima Alhashmi.
The event took place on the grand stage of the Dubai Opera and aimed to showcase the active and impactful role of Emirati women in society.

The event saw the presence of esteemed dignitaries and representatives from various cultural institutions. Among the notable attendees were Dr. Mohammed Salem Al Mazrooei and Jamal Al Shehhi, Board Members of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Foundation, as well as Paolo Petrocelli, Head of the Dubai Opera.
Also in attendance were delegates from the Emirates Writers Union, the Ministry of Culture and Youth, and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation, along with numerous cultural enthusiasts from across the UAE.

Fatima Alhashmi’s program featured a captivating blend of classic and contemporary songs, including George Bizet’s ‘Habanera,’ Layla Murad’s ‘Ana Albi Daleeli,’ and her own creation, ‘Ayloul,’ a composition marrying oriental melodies with profound lyrics.
The performance also featured the romantic melody of Eduardo Di Capua’s ‘O Sole Mio,’ Asmahan’s ‘Ya Habibi Taal,’ and the popular national song ‘Ana Laha Shams’ by Hussain Al Jasmi, which embodies love and loyalty to the homeland.
The audience was further enchanted by ‘Qalb Bila Haras,’ a modern melody with expressive lyrics, Franz Schubert’s ‘Leise Flehen Meine Lieder,’ Farid Al-Atrash’s ‘Ya Zahra Fi Khyali,’ and Majda El Roumi’s ‘Bas Ellak Habibi.’
