Raplas Technologies, a UK-based SME, has secured funding through the Defence Technology Exploitation Programme (DTEP) to partner with BAE Systems on pioneering 3D printing projects for defence applications.

This collaboration aims to enhance the UK’s defence capabilities and fortify its supply chain by developing systems for processing proprietary material formulations domestically.

Innovation in Defence Technology

The partnership between Raplas Technologies and BAE Systems marks a significant step in integrating advanced 3D printing technologies into defence applications.

By focusing on innovative solutions, this collaboration is poised to enhance operational capabilities within the UK’s defence sector.

The use of cutting-edge technology not only promises improved efficiency but also aligns with broader strategic goals of modernizing national defence infrastructure.

Strengthening the Supply Chain

A key objective of this project is to reduce dependency on international imports by manufacturing materials domestically.

This initiative is expected to stabilize the UK’s defence supply chain, ensuring a consistent and reliable source of essential materials. By fostering domestic production, the project contributes to national security and economic resilience.
