Angola’s onshore oil prospects are in the spotlight, with ACREP CEO Edilson Bartolomeu sharing the company’s ambitions ahead of African Energy Week (AEW) 2024.

With the upcoming event, ACREP is poised to demonstrate its role in advancing Angola’s oil industry, particularly in marginal fields.

Unlocking Marginal Fields’ Potential

Marginal fields in Angola present untapped opportunities, and ACREP’s expertise positions the company to transform these smaller oil discoveries into commercially viable projects.

ACREP leverages its extensive experience, particularly in areas like Cabinda Norte Block, to drive new developments and unlock production potential. By assessing and maximizing resources, ACREP commits to optimizing output.

According to Edilson Bartolomeu,

“Marginal fields offer a unique opportunity for companies with onshore expertise, like ACREP, to develop economically viable solutions.”

This focus is part of the company’s broader strategy to expand its footprint across Angola’s onshore oil sector.

Strategic Growth in Onshore Oil

In April 2024, ACREP was awarded operatorship of Block KON 19, aligning with their goal to strengthen their presence in Angola’s energy sector. This acquisition enhances their portfolio, enabling further exploration and discovery opportunities.

As Angola continues to emerge as a key player in Africa’s oil market, companies like ACREP are seizing the moment.

Bartolomeu explains,

“Our acquisition of Block KON 19 represents a strategic move to bolster our operations and secure long-term growth within the country’s onshore oil fields.”

Balancing Oil Production with the Energy Transition

While ACREP is committed to growing oil production, they also recognize the importance of sustainable energy practices. The company has taken steps to integrate low-carbon technologies and renewable energy into their operations.

From using photovoltaic panels to replace diesel generators to exploring gas reserves in the Noz field, ACREP is demonstrating a commitment to supporting Angola’s energy transition.

Bartolomeu said,

“We aim to balance increased production with sustainability by adopting energy-efficient technologies and renewable energy sources.”

The Role of AEW 2024 in Angola’s Energy Future

African Energy Week 2024 provides a vital platform for companies like ACREP to connect with other energy leaders, share best practices, and explore partnerships.

As a co-sponsor of the ‘Invest in Angola’ roundtable, ACREP will engage in key discussions with global investors, further solidifying its role in Angola’s onshore oil expansion and the energy transition.

Participating in AEW 2024 will significantly enhance ACREP’s African energy sector presence. Consequently, the company will strengthen its position, leverage expertise, and explore synergies with fellow energy firms.

Moreover, this engagement will foster collaborations, drive growth, and cement ACREP’s reputation as a continental leader.

To Sum Up

ACREP’s onshore ambitions, coupled with their commitment to sustainable practices, position the company as a key player in Angola’s evolving energy landscape.

With AEW 2024 on the horizon, ACREP is set to make a significant impact on the future of Africa’s oil and energy transition plans.
