Library of Congress to Host Dav Pilkey: An Unmissable Event for Families

The Library of Congress invites families to an exclusive evening with Dav Pilkey, celebrated author and illustrator of the Dog Man series, on January 29. The event promises an engaging talk, a sneak peek at the upcoming Dog Man movie, signed books, and fun activities for all ages.

 

An Evening of Creativity and Fun

When and Where
Taking place on Wednesday, January 29, at 5:30 p.m., this event will be held at the historic Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Admission is free, ensuring accessibility for all families.

Event Highlights
Guests will experience:

  • An author talk featuring Pilkey’s latest book, Dog Man: Big Jim Begins.
  • A sneak peek from DreamWorks Animation’s Dog Man film, releasing January 31.
  • Interactive family activities, including a create-your-own comics station, photo opportunities with the Dog Man character, and more.

Pilkey’s global tour, Celebrating Heroes Around the World, starts with this event, spotlighting his mission to inspire creativity and empathy in children worldwide.

Free Tickets and Accessibility

How to Attend
Reserve your free tickets at loc.gov/events. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for general admission activities. Attendees will receive custom Dog Man cookies and access to all interactive experiences.

Exclusive Add-Ons
A limited number of add-on tickets for the 6:30 p.m. author program in the Coolidge Auditorium are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If sold out, a day-of-event waitlist will be open for hopeful attendees.

Meet-and-Greet Details
Starting at 7:15 p.m., all ticket holders can meet Pilkey in person and receive a signed copy of his new book. Additional books will also be available for purchase onsite.
