Northern Ireland welcomed its new Secretary of State, Hilary Benn, who met with key political leaders to discuss economic growth, public services, and political stability.

This visit marks a significant step in strengthening the relationship between the UK Government and Northern Ireland’s Executive.

 

Meeting Highlights

During his visit, Hilary Benn attended a Cabinet meeting in London before traveling to Hillsborough Castle. There, he met with First Minister Michelle O’Neill, deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly, and representatives from other Executive and Opposition parties.

This initial meeting set the tone for collaborative efforts to address Northern Ireland’s pressing issues.
