Senior Olympic Festival Registration Begins

Tucson's largest senior event encourages active living through fitness competitions, from archery to pickleball, running January 4–February 2.

Tucson’s Senior Olympic Festival is back, celebrating its 40th anniversary with exciting fitness and recreational events for adults aged 50 and older.

The festival, which will run from January 4 to February 2, 2025, invites participants to stay active through a wide array of sports, from archery and pickleball to golf and basketball.

 

Event Details and Registration

The Senior Olympic Festival, Tucson’s largest organized event for seniors, is expected to draw over 2,000 participants this year. Registration officially opens on November 4, 2024, and will remain open until December 27, 2024.

Those interested can sign up online at EZEEreg.com or by calling 520-791-4877.

Various venues across Tucson will host the different events, making it accessible to residents from all parts of the city. The event welcomes everyone aged 50 and older, regardless of fitness level.

Sports and Activities

The festival features more than 30 sports, offering something for everyone, from casual enthusiasts to competitive athletes.

Popular events include:

  • Pickleball, which continues to gain traction among seniors for its mix of strategy and physicality.
  • Archery, allowing participants to test their precision and focus.

Additional activities such as swimming, track and field, tennis, and bowling ensure that participants of all interests can get involved. The festival also includes non-sporting activities such as bridge and shuffleboard, making it inclusive for all skill levels.

 

Meet the Coordinator Event

For those who want to learn more about the festival or meet the team behind the scenes, a special “Meet the Coordinator” event will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Morris K. Udall Recreation Center.

This event offers attendees the chance to register on-site, win raffle prizes, and receive free merchandise.

The first 50 attendees will receive a complimentary Senior Olympic Festival 2025 lapel pin.

The Senior Olympic Festival promotes more than just competition; it fosters a sense of community, healthy living, and active aging.

With support from sponsors like the Pain Institute of Southern Arizona and BlueCross BlueShield, the festival continues to thrive as a cornerstone event for Tucson’s senior population. As the festival grows, it reinforces the importance of staying active and engaged, regardless of age.
