In a groundbreaking announcement, the KYOJO CUP, a prominent women-only racing series operated by Inter Proto Motorsport (IPMS), will adopt a new hybrid formula car for the 2025 season.

This move aligns with the series’ mission to develop female racing drivers and advance motorsport technology in Japan.

A New Era for KYOJO CUP

The KYOJO CUP, which has been using the VITA-01 car since its inception in 2017, is set to revolutionize the series with the introduction of the KC-MG01.

The VITA-01, known for its affordability and competitive performance, helped the series grow from 10-15 participants in its first year to 28 in the opening race of the 2024 season.

The second and third races, held alongside the All-Japan Super Formula Championship, saw 29 participants.

Specifications of the KC-MG01

The new KC-MG01 hybrid formula car represents a significant technological advancement. Here are the specifications:

  • Chassis: Carbon composite monocoque with FIA-approved Halo system
  • Engine: 1.4L turbo (176bhp) + Hybrid system (12kW)
  • Transmission: 6-speed paddle shift
  • Suspension: Push-rod style 4-wheel double wishbone suspension
  • Dimensions: Length: 4,150mm; Wheelbase: 2,753mm; Width: 1,506mm; Height: 980mm; Weight: 635kg
