Four New EV Charging Stations at Cascades Library Offer Easy Access for Loudoun Residents.

Loudoun County has expanded its support for eco-friendly transportation by adding four new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the Cascades Library in Potomac Falls.

The new stations, which charge at a rate of $2.10 per session, aim to make electric vehicle charging more accessible to the community while promoting sustainable initiatives as part of Loudoun’s Energy Strategy.

EV Charging Access for a Greener Loudoun

The addition of EV chargers at Cascades Library is part of Loudoun County’s commitment to creating a sustainable future.

Located at 21030 Whitfield Place, Potomac Falls, the new stations provide space for up to four vehicles to charge simultaneously, offering both convenience and reliability for residents and visitors alike.

As more drivers make the shift to electric vehicles, Loudoun’s investment in public charging stations supports the community’s evolving needs and helps reduce emissions associated with traditional vehicles.

How It Works:
The new EV charging stations offer straightforward operation and payment through a mobile app that connects to credit or debit cards. Each charging session starts as soon as a car is plugged into the station, ending either when charging is complete or when the plug is removed.

The flat rate of $2.10 per session provides a simple, accessible option for electric vehicle owners.

Where to Find EV Charging in Loudoun

Beyond the Cascades Library, the county has installed EV charging stations at several other popular public locations, broadening the reach of its environmental programs.

This is especially useful as EV ownership continues to rise in the region. Below is a summary of existing EV charging station locations throughout Loudoun County:

Location

Address

Harmony Park and Ride 39464 E Colonial Hwy, Hamilton
Ashburn Library 43316 Hay Road, Ashburn
Ashburn Senior Center 20880 Marblehead Drive, Ashburn
Lucketts Community Center 42361 Lucketts Road, Leesburg
Round Hill Aquatic Center 17010 Evening Star Drive, Round Hill
Bluemont Community Center 33846 Snickersville Turnpike, Bluemont
Middleburg Library 101 Reed St., Middleburg
Sterling Community Center 120 Enterprise St., Sterling

These locations provide convenient options for residents across Loudoun County, reducing the need for long drives to access EV charging facilities. Additionally, the county plans to add more stations over the next year to support the growth in EV usage and promote environmental consciousness.

A Step Toward Sustainable Transportation

Loudoun County’s expansion of EV charging stations aligns with its broader Energy Strategy, approved by the Board of Supervisors. This initiative not only encourages electric vehicle adoption but also addresses the county’s goals of reducing carbon emissions and supporting renewable energy options.

Publicly accessible EV chargers are a vital component in the county’s long-term sustainability planning, enhancing community access to green infrastructure and reinforcing environmental commitments.

The locations of the EV charging stations are also available on the Loudoun GeoHub in the Environment & Energy section, offering an interactive map for easy access and planning.

Final Thoughts

Loudoun County is making significant strides in promoting eco-friendly transportation with the installation of new EV charging stations. Consequently, residents now have convenient access to sustainable options.
Moreover, these facilities provide a straightforward solution for EV owners in Potomac Falls and surrounding areas, paving the way for a greener future for all.
