The UK will host the In-Orbit Servicing, Assembly and Manufacturing Conference from June 4-6, 2025, at ICC Belfast, bolstering space technology advancements.

Initiative Overview

The UK Space Agency organizes the ISAM Conference, uniting government, industry, academia and international organizations to drive in-orbit servicing, assembly and manufacturing innovations.
The main areas of focus include rendezvous and proximity operations, on-orbit satellite servicing and in-space assembly. The conference fosters collaboration, developing technical and operational standards.

UK Commitment to Space Innovation

Dr. Paul Bate, UK Space Agency CEO, emphasized:
“Satellite technology is vital to modern society, but Earth’s orbits are increasingly crowded. In-orbit servicing, assembly and manufacturing present an £11 billion market opportunity.”
Following the successful inaugural event, the 2025 conference expands, solidifying the UK’s crucial role in advancing space capabilities.

Conference Benefits

The ISAM Conference boosts the UK’s space industry through stakeholder discussions, driving innovation and addressing in-orbit servicing challenges.
Outcomes include:
  • Sustainable space operations
  • Enhanced UK leadership in the global space sector
  • Insights into latest developments and challenges
  • Robust space economy growth
The three-day conference features presentations, panel discussions and networking at ICC Belfast.

Industry Support

John Abbott, Satellite Applications Catapult CEO, stated:
“We’re thrilled to announce ISAM’s return. The inaugural event surpassed expectations. ISAM has vast potential for the space industry’s future.”

The Future of Space Technology

The ISAM Conference marks a milestone in the UK’s space technology journey. Collective efforts by industry leaders, academics and government bodies position the UK to shape the global space economy.
