Canada has reaffirmed its commitment to helping Syria navigate a severe humanitarian crisis. Minister of International Development Ahmed Hussen, after a diplomatic tour of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye, announced $17.25 million in humanitarian funding. This timely support underscores Canada’s dedication to addressing the escalating needs of over 16 million Syrians affected by a 13-year conflict.

A Unified Response to Syria’s Crisis

The Syrian crisis has left nearly 70% of the country’s population reliant on aid. Recognizing the urgency, Minister Hussen’s visit aimed to strengthen partnerships and explore collaborative solutions. His meetings with key international officials emphasized coordinated efforts to deliver essential resources and restore stability in Syria and the broader region.
