A landmark alliance between Foxconn, NVIDIA, and the Taiwan government is setting the stage for an AI-driven leap forward.

With 10,000 Blackwell GPUs powering a new AI supercomputer, this initiative promises to accelerate research, automate industries, and reshape Taiwan’s digital future.

Foxconn, NVIDIA, and Taiwan Unveil AI Supercomputer

In a major step for global artificial intelligence infrastructure, Foxconn, through its subsidiary Big Innovation Company, has announced the construction of a cutting-edge AI supercomputer in Taiwan.

Backed by NVIDIA’s advanced Blackwell GPU architecture and supported by Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), the initiative is designed to power national innovation and industrial transformation across multiple sectors.

Strategic Partnership Sets a New Standard

The announcement, made during COMPUTEX 2025, marks a deepening collaboration among industry giants and Taiwan’s government. At the heart of the initiative is the deployment of 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, delivering unprecedented AI computing capacity.

The supercomputer will be operated by Big Innovation Company as an NVIDIA Cloud Partner, ensuring broad access to AI infrastructure for researchers, startups, and enterprises across Taiwan.

“We are delighted to partner with Foxconn and Taiwan to help build Taiwan’s AI infrastructure,”

said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA.

Driving Research and Industry at Scale

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) will be one of the supercomputer’s first major beneficiaries.

TSMC researchers will use the system to accelerate R&D, particularly in semiconductor technologies. According to TSMC, the performance improvements over previous systems are expected to be exponential.

Meanwhile, the Taiwan NSTC will use the infrastructure to provide AI cloud services for academic and industrial use.

This move aligns with the government’s broader goal of transforming the island into a “smart AI nation” equipped with next-generation city systems and industry tools.

Sectors Set to Benefit

Foxconn’s deployment of the AI factory will span several strategic verticals:

  • Smart Cities: Enhanced traffic management, civil services, and connected systems.

  • Electric Vehicles: AI-enabled driver assistance and safety technologies.

  • Manufacturing: Automation, digital twins, and real-time analytics to streamline operations.

Big Innovation Cloud will also join NVIDIA’s DGX Cloud Lepton™ marketplace, opening the door for startups, developers, and institutions to tap into powerful GPU resources with minimal setup.

A National AI Vision Backed by Scale

Minister Wu Cheng-Wen of the NSTC emphasized the project’s broader goals: to foster an AI-focused industrial ecosystem in Taiwan’s south, promote everyday AI integration, and cultivate smart cities.

This vision extends Taiwan’s role in global technology beyond manufacturing into full-stack AI deployment.

“Our ultimate goal is to create a smart AI island filled with smart cities,”

Wu said, reinforcing the transformative scope of the initiative.

A New Phase in AI Collaboration

Foxconn’s AI supercomputer project signals a bold investment in the future of technology, not just for Taiwan, but as a model for regional digital transformation.

By partnering with NVIDIA and leveraging public and private support, the venture creates a foundation for rapid innovation across science, industry, and society.

Looking Ahead

This collaboration is more than an infrastructure upgrade—it’s a blueprint for scaling AI in ways that touch every layer of national development.
