At 6:18 am FBI and local enforcement officers were observed by locals in full tactical armor at the junction of Wilmot and East 31st Street. The building is not too far away away from the main entrance of the Davis Monthan Airforce base.
Shot Fired
At exactly 6:30 am a shotgun was fired in the vicinity and shortly after men were arrested. The men were searched and then handcuffed before being seated on chairs outside the house that was raided.
Though not seen by eye witnesses it is very possible the shot was fired in the air to stop the men from making a run for it.
Use of FBI Drone
The use of a FBI drone was clearly seen at around 6:15 am with the operator moving the drone over the house for a birds eye view. We interviewed the FBI operator on the scene but he was unwilling to provide specific answers to what had happened. However, he did confirm it was a joint operation with local law enforcement. No immigration officers were seen on site though it is possible they were at the other end of the street which had been cordoned off.
Interview with FBI Drone Operator
The FBI agent at first denied using a drone until we mentioned we had a photo. He would not deny the arrests were drug related but did refer us on to the FBI press officer.
