The U.S. Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, met with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud, to enhance defense ties focusing on counterterrorism and regional security.

This meeting underscores the importance of joint initiatives and military technology acquisitions to address threats from extremist groups and regional adversaries.

 

Strengthening Defense Ties

The recent meeting between U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud aimed to bolster defense relations between the two nations.

The discussions centered on enhancing cooperation in counterterrorism efforts and ensuring regional security.

Both leaders emphasized the significance of joint defense initiatives, intelligence sharing, and military training as essential components in combating extremist groups like ISIS and al-Qaeda.

“Our relationship and our work together and cooperation is vital… to continue to coordinate and work together to make sure the region is stable,”

said Prince Khalid bin Salman.
